Studio Gap, LLC, is a locally owned small business operating since 2009. Studio Gap specializes in graphic design, architectural design and photography. When the owners Andrew and Ginny Payne, moved from North Carolina to Savannah in 2009, Ginny wanted to expand the design aspects of the business to include photography so she contacted SCORE to seek guidance in several areas. See the website below for more information about Studio Gap, LLC.

My successes.

After moving to Savannah in 2009 and getting to know the community, Ginny started working to grow the portrait photography business. It grew one client at a time thru word of mouth and getting out and meeting people. People really enjoyed being part of creative photo shoots. Shooting in beautiful Savannah locations, often times around sunset, naturally encouraged people to relax and have fun. Some of the favorite topics of discussion prior to shoots were choosing the perfect location, wardrobe and props. Afterwards the conversation turned to creating custom wall displays or personalized coffee table books. Fast forward to 2012 and the schedule is pretty well booked for the rest of the year. Studio GAP Photography has been blessed with many wonderful loyal clients who quickly became friends.

How SCORE helped.

SCORE counselors worked with Ginny on various administrative aspects of the business including several regulatory compliance matters, bookkeeping, tax planning and the efficient utilization of an accounting software program that tracks the financial performance of each component of the business.

What's great about my mentor?

"When I didn't know how to navigate all the new business paperwork and government requirements Ben was able to easily guide me thru the process. I'm very thankful that there is a group dedicated to helping start up business owners and thankful for the hours Ben has dedicated to making my business a success."

Professor Payne and Ginny continue to seek assistance and accounting guidance from SCORE as they grow their newest enterprise, “Footprint Savannah” (, a single-stream recycling program for waste products.
